Chinese vice premier meets former U.S. secretary of state

Chinese Vice Premier Liu Yandong met with former U.S. Secretary of State Madeleine Albright Wednesday in Beijing.

Hailing stable China-U.S. relations, close contact and progress in various areas, Liu called for strengthening cooperation and increasing people-to-people exchanges to build a new model of major-country relations between China and the United States.

Albright stressed the importance of bilateral ties and voiced confidence in their prospects.

They also discussed specific areas of cooperation including people-to-people exchanges and health care. Endit
