The Austrian far-right Freedom Party (FPO) will be hosting a "large event" for representatives from a total of nine European right-wing populist parties on Friday.

Austria Press Agency stated Tuesday the gathering titled "Patriotic Spring," that has already stirred controversy domestically since it was first announced last week, is to be held at the Pyramide Voesendorf in the district of Moedling, located just outside the southern limits of capital city Vienna.

Marine Le Pen of France's National Front, MEP for the Alternative for Germany Marcus Pretzell are expected to be in attendance.

Other representatives are expected from Belgian party Vlaams Belang, and Italy's Lega Nord.

The FPO said it will hold a press conference at its parliament quarters Friday morning, with live music and speeches to be held at the venue from the late afternoon. Endit
