Singapore stocks close 0.73 pct lower

Singapore stocks finished lower on Friday, with the benchmark Straits Times Index (STI) down 20.83 points, or 0.73 percent, to close at 2,822.97.

A total of 1.02 billion shares changed hands with turnover of 919.3 million Singapore dollars (676 million U.S. dollars).

Decliners outnumbered gainers 221 to 165, while 520 others finished unchanged.

The STI index lost 18.58 points, or 0.65 percent, to close at 2,843.8 on Thursday. Endit
