Update: Moderate quake hits southern California

A magnitude-5.1 earthquake early Friday struck 14 miles (22 km) north-northwest of Borrego Springs, southern California, the U.S. Geological Survey said.

The earthquake, which occurred at 1:04 a.m. local time (0804 GMT), was at a depth of 0.9 mile (1.4 km) and felt from San Diego to West Los Angeles.

There were no immediate reports of damage, according to the Los Angeles County Fire Department. Endi
