The following are news highlights in Ethiopia's major media outlets on Friday.

-- Ethiopia and Uganda have reportedly agreed to further enhance their all-round relation.

-- Ethiopia's year-on-year inflation has increased to 7.9 percent in May from 7.4 percent the previous month, according to the Ethiopian Central Statistics Agency.

The rise in general inflation rate is mainly due to the increase in price of food components as butter, meat and vegetable (especially onions and garlic) showed a rise in prices. (Fana Broadcasting Corporate/FBC)

-- The 756km Addis Ababa-Djibouti electric railway will commence operations in September, an Ethiopian official said.

"We have completed 95 percent of the project. We are waiting for allocation of electricity for the line and will start full operation in September," said Engineer Getachew Betru, the CEO of the Ethiopian Railway Corporation. (Fana Broadcasting Corporate/FBC)

-- Ethiopian Airlines Aviation Academy has graduated 347 aviation professionals Thursday.

Out of the graduates, 25 are pilots, 35 aviation maintenance technicians, 43 cabin crew, and 244 commercial and ground service professionals. The graduates include Rwandese nationals. (Ethiopian News Agency/ENA) Endit
