"X-Men: Apocalypse" reigns China's box office

"X-Men: Apocalypse" dominated China's box office in the week ending June 5, earning 387 million yuan (about 58.9 million U.S. dollars) in its opening week.

"Alice Through the Looking Glass" was a respectable number two in the week, making 147 million yuan, according to China Film News on Friday.

"The Angry Birds Movie" came in third over the seven days, pulling in 126.8 million yuan.

Fourth place went to Superhero blockbuster "Captain America: Civil War" with 24.4 million yuan. It has made 1.248 billion yuan since its release on May 6.

Rounding out the top five was "The Divergent Series: Allegiant," starring Shailene Woodley and Theo James. It rang up 12.1 million yuan in the recording week. Endi
