Russia on Friday successfully put the U.S. communications satellite Intelsat 31 (Intelsat DLA-2) onto a designated orbit, the Russian federal space agency Roscosmos said.
"The separation of the satellite from the booster took place on time, at 01:40 a.m. Moscow time, today," the agency said.
According to Roscosmos, Russia's Proton-M rocket, carrying the U.S. satellite, blasted off from the Russian-leased Baikonur cosmodrome in Kazakhstan at 10:10 a.m. Moscow time Thursday.
The U.S. communications satellite is expected to provide telecom services for Latin America. Endi
