Ghana Captain Asamoah Gyan has laughed off reports linking him with a move away from Chinese Super League side Shanghai SIPG.
According to a report carried by Caughtoffside.com and published extensively by local media in Ghana, Shanghai SIPG is willing to part ways with Gyan, who has suffered injuries since joining them last year from Al Ain in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) where he enjoyed immense success.
However, Gyan, who did not rule out a return to the English Premier League, denied the widely circulated reports insisting they were untrue.
"It is not true that Chelsea have made my club an offer neither has the club told me that my services are no more needed," he told Boss FM, a local radio station in Kumasi, Ghana' s second largest commercial city.
"I was only informed by friends and colleagues that I was close to joining Chelsea per stories on the internet but I told them that I have not heard anything."
"If any club shows up and my club agrees and I also agree personal terms with them, which is possible though, that is only when I can say a deal has been reached. Until that is done, I laugh off internet stories," said Gyan. Endit
