Lithuanian Prime Minister Algirdas Butkevicius on Wednesday received first 10 Lithuanian university students who will train in Huawei's headquarters and praised the Chinese ICT giant's "Seeds for the Future" initiative.
"It is a great success to intern at the global leader's R&D and Innovation Centers," said Butkevicius, adding that he was glad that these Lithuanian students would work together Huawei's researchers and specialists.
The ten students will attend a two-week long work experience program under Huawei's initiative "Seeds for the Future" that was aimed at training on ICT technologies and solutions.
They will be the first Lithuanian students to be trained, which was a result of an agreement signed November last year between Huawei and three Lithuanian universities, two of them based in Vilnius and one in second largest city Kaunas.
Butkevicius noted that this program illustrates how cooperation between Lithuania and China expands in various areas.
Huawei said thousands of students from 60 universities based in 20 countries have already used the opportunity of the "Seeds for the Future" project to adapt to the ICT industry and gained more exposure and understanding of the newest technologies. Endit
