China, Uruguay vow to boost ties

Xinhua, June 8, 2016 Adjust font size:

Chinese State Councilor Yang Jiechi met with Uruguayan Foreign Minister Rodolfo Nin Novoa on Wednesday in Beijing, pledging to improve bilateral ties.

China attaches high importance to developing its relationship with Uruguay and stands ready to strengthen high-level exchanges, consolidate political mutual trust, and expand cooperation in such areas as trade, investment and people-to-people exchanges, Yang said.

China will strengthen coordination with Uruguay as well as with Latin America as a whole in international and regional affairs, he said.

Getting closer to China is Uruguay's strategic choice, according to Nin Novoa. Uruguay will strengthen coordination with China to realize common development and strengthen ties between China and Latin America, he said. Endi
