The following are highlights of South African major media outlets on Tuesday.

-- The British government on Monday echoed the US embassy's security alert to its citizens travelling to and in SA, heightening concerns about the possibility of a terrorist attack in the country.

British High Commission spokeswoman Isabel Potgieter said the British government's travel advisory had been adjusted to reflect the US alert to Americans in SA. (Business Day)

-- Riot police were monitoring "hot spots" across Durban on Tuesday morning after a day of violent civil unrest on Monday.

Police spokesperson Major Thulani Zwane said that all areas were calm, barring a stretch of Inanda Road where people had started gathering. (News24)

-- Acting National Police Commissioner, Khomotso Phahlane says it is too soon to rule out the possibility that he was the target of an attack.
