Jordan celebrates Great Arab Revolt anniversary

Jordan on Thursday celebrates the centennial anniversary of the Great Arab Revolt led by Sharif Hussein Bin Ali, His Majesty King Abdullah's great grandfather.

Public and military celebrations were held throughout the country, as well as a military parade in capital Amman, which was attended by Jordan's high ranking officials and foreign delegates.

Jordan's Royal Air Force also staged an air show, which attracted more than 5,000 people watching.

The Great Arab Revolt began on June 5, 1916 to seek national independence from the Ottoman rule. Endit
