Macao can help mainland enterprises to expand market: IIICF organizer

Macao can assist mainland enterprises to expand their businesses in Portuguese-speaking countries and markets along the "Belt and Road" by providing construction-finance matching services, Macao trade and investment promotion chief said here on Thursday.

President of the co-organizer, Macao Trade and Investment Promotion Institute Jackson Chang made the speech on The 7th International Infrastructure Investment and Construction Forum (IIICF) which opened here on Thursday.

Macao is a free and open service-orientated economy with sound financial and legal systems. The financial industry of Macao has been enhanced in terms of regional competitiveness and savings per household, said Chang.

So Macao has the strength to develop featured financing industry to perform as a networking platform to help mainland infrastructural enterprises to expand their businesses overseas especially in the regions along the "Belt and Road" and Portuguese-speaking countries, he added.

Themed "Innovating Construction Finance Co-operation and Energizing Infrastructure Development," the forum will focus on the innovative cooperation models between the infrastructure construction industry and finance sector, through which they believe new opportunities could be yielded.

The two-day event includes two keynote forums and seven parallel panels as well as network symposiums, attracting over 1,400 delegates from government organs, international organizations, contractors, financial institutions as well as consulting companies from around the world.

IIICF, founded in 2010 by China International Contractors Association with the approval by the Chinese Ministry of Commerce, serves as a platform of communication, exchange and cooperation for investment and construction of infrastructure. Endit
