Vestas to deliver 65 wind turbines for project in Canada

Xinhua, June 1, 2016 Adjust font size:

Danish wind turbine giant Vestas will deliver 65 wind turbines for a wind project in Canada, the company announced on Wednesday.

The order entails delivery of 65 turbines of the V117-3.45 megawatt type for the Nicolas Riou wind project in Quebec, totaling 224 megawatts, Vestas said in a statement.

This project, which will be the first to install V117-3.45 MW turbines in Canada, will take the installed capacity of V117-3.3/3.45 MW turbines globally across the 800 megawatt mark.

The contract includes supply and commissioning of the wind turbines as well as a ten-year full-scope service agreement.

Turbine delivery is expected to begin in the second quarter of 2017 with final commissioning scheduled for the fourth quarter of 2017.

Vestas is a leading wind-turbine manufacturer, delivering wind energy in more than 70 countries worldwide. It produced and shipped 3,330 wind turbines with a combined capacity of 7,948 megawatts in 2015. Enditem
