Jordan's new cabinet sworn in

Xinhua, June 1, 2016 Adjust font size:

A new Jordanian government headed by Hani Al Mulki was sworn in Wednesday before King Abdullah II of Jordan, the state-run Petra news agency reported.

The new government saw the entry of new ministers in portfolios of health, culture and transport.

Ministers of foreign affairs, interior, finance, energy and water and irrigation who were serving under outgoing Premier Abdullah Ensour kept their portfolios.

The new cabinet will prepare for the upcoming parliamentary elections slated before the end of the year.

The new Jordanian government will embark on a series of projects to improve the economic conditions in the country, whose economy suffered from a wave of Syrian refugees and troubled security conditions in the region, according to the letter of appointment by King Abdullah to Al Mulki. Endit
