Berlin Air Show, a leading European aviation trade fair, opens here on Wednesday with over 1,000 exhibitors from 37 countries.

The biennial event is scheduled to last until Saturday. 1,017 exhibitors from 37 countries will display the latest technology from aviation and space industries.

"The special significance of the aerospace industry is its highly innovative orientation. The industry invests in the future," said German Economy Ministry Sigmar Gabriel at the opening of the trade fair at Berlin's Schoenefeld airport.

According to organizers, visitors will be able to see some 200 aircraft both on ground and in flying displays. Among them are Airbus A350 XWB, A380, A320neo, Boeing B747-8, as well as military planes including A-400M, Eurofighter and Tornado fighter jets.
