First edition of Michelin Guide Singapore 2016 to be launched on July 21

Xinhua, June 1, 2016 Adjust font size:

The first edition of Michelin Guide Singapore 2016 will be launched on July 21, announced Michelin here at a press conference on Wednesday.

Michelin said Singapore is the first and only country in Southeast Asia to be included in the Michelin Guide's coverage. The launch ceremony will see the presentation of stars to restaurants in Singapore for the year 2016, and International Director of the Michelin Guides Michael Ellis will also attend the ceremony.

The ceremony cum gala dinner will be open to the public for the first time, added Michelin. The glittery event will allow food connoisseurs and gastronomes to get up close and personal with chefs from the newly crowned Michelin-starred restaurants in Singapore, and share the first moments of joy with them.

In collaboration with Robert Parker Wine Advocate and Singapore Tourism Board, Michelin will also launch a series of activities in Singapore this year.

Michelin Guide has become an international benchmark in fine dining because of its rigorous selection process. When preparing the selection, Michelin inspectors reviewed all types of cuisines and evaluated the quality of the food according to consistent criteria. Enditem
