Indonesia Open gets under way, featuring 322 badminton players

The 2016 Indonesia Open badminton tournament reeled off here on Monday, featuring 322 players from 23 countries and regions.

Huang Yuxiang of China beat local player Wisnu Yuli Prasetyo 21-14, 21-19 on the first day of the week-long tourney.

Among the participants are two-time Olympic champion Lin Dan, world No.1 Chen Long, both of China that dispatches 33 players, and Lee Chong Wei of Malaysia. China's Li Xuerui, Wang Yihan and Wang Shixian will also show up for the women's singles.

The 2016 Indonesia Open, the fifth leg of the Super Series of the Badminton World Federation, offers a total bonus prize of 900,000 US dollars. Endit
