Quality products from China's Zhejiang Province impress buyers at Kyrgyz fair

Xinhua, May 26, 2016 Adjust font size:

Quality products made in China on display at the Zhejiang Export Commodities Fair in Kyrgyzstan 2016 attracted many visitors and buyers as the exhibition and fair kicked off on Thursday.

"The quality of made-in-China products has improved much in recent years. They are even comparable to American and European brands," some buyers said, browsing plastic building blocks and other toys at a booth.

Chen Chun, a corporate representative of the company that hired the booth, said it was the first time for her company, based in the city of Wenzhou, to take part in the fair in the Central Asian country. Her company mainly produces indoor toys and equipment for children.

Wenzhou is a city in China's prosperous eastern coastal province of Zhejiang.

The two-day fair, jointly organized by the Department of Commerce of Zhejiang Province, Yuanda International Exhibition Company, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Kyrgyz Republic and business consultancy Huahe International, displays products of 29 companies from Zhejiang.

The products on display include electrical products, pharmaceutical equipment, textiles, pearl products, equipment for the textile industry, consumer goods, fruits and vegetables, among others.

Sun He, Chinese commercial counsellor in Kyrgyzstan, said the fair will be a platform for exploring business opportunities and trade and economic cooperation between the two countries.

"Kyrgyzstan and China have been good neighbors and partners in trade and economic cooperation. We hope that China will actively invest in the restoration of the new Great Silk Road," said Kyrgyzstan's Minister of Economy Arzybek Kozhoshev, the guest of honor at the event.

Ma Jianguo, deputy director of the Department of Commerce of Zhejiang Province, said Zhejiang will enhance economic cooperation with Kyrgyzstan in the manufacturing and processing sector.

The fair also serves to promote the Silk Road Economic Belt Initiative proposed by Chinese leaders.

Last year, the first Zhejiang Export Commodities Fair in Bishkek attracted 21 companies from Zhejiang to exhibit their products. Endi
