Palestinian sources on Thursday said that Israeli warplanes struck the Gaza Strip twice, with no human casualties reported.
The sources told Xinhua that the two airstrikes targeted two locations belonging to the Al-Qassam brigades, the armed wing of the Islamic Hamas movement, in central and southern Gaza, leaving only structural damage but no human casualties.
According to Israeli public radio, the Israeli army said the two raids come "in retaliation to the rockets fired Wednesday night against the western Negec area" in southern Israel.
No Palestinian faction claimed responsibility for the rockets launched from Gaza.
Earlier in May, an elderly woman was killed and four others, including three children, were injured in Israeli air and land strikes over four days.
The strikes were a result of tensions along the eastern border of the Gaza Strip, after Israeli forces said they were attacked by rockets fired whilst they were conducting a search for underground tunnels along the border.
In 2014, Egypt brokered a cease-fire between Israel and Palestinian factions, ending a 50-day Israeli military offensive against the coastal enclave during the summer of 2014. Endit
