Nigeria to revitalize lottery industry: vice-president

Xinhua, May 20, 2016 Adjust font size:

Nigeria is set to revitalize its lottery industry with an aim to make it more productive and meet expected standards, Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo said on Friday.

He told reporters in Abuja, the nation's capital, lottery was a revenue-earner, the reason it has decided to revitalize the industry in line with the policy of economic diversification, job creation, infrastructural development and security.

Osinbajo said government was determined to enhance performance in the lottery sub-sector and ensure appropriate service delivery across the West African nation.

He said the lottery sub-sector will not be left out in the current fight against corruption, a reason for which he urged all lottery operators to remit appropriately to government coffers, in order to shore up government revenue for infrastructure development and making Nigerians happier. Endit
