Singapore stocks close 1.33 pct lower

Singapore stocks finished lower on Thursday, with the benchmark Straits Times Index (STI) down 37.00 points, or 1.33 percent, to close at 2,740.11.

A total of 1.18 billion shares changed hands with turnover of 1.05 billion Singapore dollars (764.6 million U.S. dollars).

Decliners outnumbered gainers 269 to 132, while 507 others finished unchanged.

The STI index lost 4.00 points, or 0.14 percent, to close at 2,777.11 on Wednesday. Endit
