Cambodian, Chinese universities sign deal on academic cooperation

Xinhua, May 17, 2016 Adjust font size:

Cambodia's state-owned University of Kratie and China's Guangxi University signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on academic cooperation here on Tuesday.

The deal was inked between Ngy Laymithuna, rector of the University of Kratie, and Shang Nahong, vice president of the Guangxi University, under the presence of Cambodian Education Secretary of State Pith Chamnan and Chinese Ambassador to Cambodia Bu Jianguo.

"The MoU will be mainly focused on the exchanges of students, lecturers, experiences, and research," said an Education Ministry press release. "It will also help strengthen educational quality at the University of Kratie."

Located in southeastern Kratie province, the University of Kratie is currently under construction and expected to be launched in late 2017. It will be comprised of three faculties - agronomy, agro-industry and rural talent - and two institutes of fish study and foreign languages and information technology. Enditem
