Indian stocks close higher

Indian stocks closed higher Tuesday, reacting to exit polls that showed gains for the ruling BJP in the just-concluded assembly elections, a fresh bounce in crude oil prices and solid trade in U.S. markets in overnight trade.

The benchmark S&P BSE Sensex closed at 25,773.61, 120.38 points or 0.47 percent up from previous close of 25,653.23, with a turnover of 418.01 crore rupees (about 62.5 million U.S. dollars). Endit
