The following are news highlights in major South African media outlets on Tuesday.

-- Speculation that Finance Minister Pravin Gordhan was facing arrest hammered investor sentiment on Monday, causing the rand to tank more than 2 percent.

The jitters again made the rand the worst performer among emerging market currencies after it sank to R15.74 against the U.S. dollar from Friday's close of R15.40. (Business Day)
