-- Cape Town's failing commuter rail transport system and increased traffic congestion have left the city on the verge of crisis, says the Cape Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

In a hard-hitting statement on Friday, the Chamber said a survey of its members had found that 85 percent of those polled said employees were demotivated and productivity had been reduced. (Business Day).

-- In a landmark judgment, the South Gauteng High Court ruled in favour of mine workers to launch a silicosis class action suit against mining companies.
