2nd LD Writethru: Suicide car bomb kills 4, wounds 12 in S. Afghanistan

A suicide car bomb that hit Nad Ali district in the restive Helmand province left four people including the attacker dead and injured 12 others on Saturday, Omar Zawak, the spokesman for Helmand provincial government said.

"A terrorist riding explosive-borne car blew it up in front of the gate of local police training center in Nad Ali district at around 09:00 a.m. local time today killing himself and three local police personnel," Zawak told Xinhua.

Twelve more people including 10 local police and two schoolchildren sustained injuries in the incident, the official added.

Meanwhile, Qari Yusuf Ahmadi who claims to speak for the Taliban outfit in contact with media claimed of responsibility, saying several security personnel were killed and injured in the suicide attack. Endit
