WADA to announce investigation results over New York Times doping report: Russian media

The World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) said it would announce the results of an investigation into the alleged doping use by Russian athletes in the 2014 Sochi Olympic Games next week, local media reported Saturday.

"The agency plans to consider the accusations. At the moment we are mulling actions on this issue. We will announce more specific information next week," the TASS news agency quoted an unnamed WADA source as saying.

On Thursday, The New York Times, quoting former head of Moscow's anti-doping laboratory Grigory Rodchenkov, claimed that at least 15 Russian medal-winners at Sochi Winter Olympics were part of a state-run doping program designed to enhance their performance.

Calling that a "political game," Russia has warned of possible lawsuit against the U.S. daily. Endit
