South Sudan President Salva Kiir will be among foreign dignitaries who will attend the swearing ceremony of Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni on Thursday in the capital, Kampala.
Kiir's press secretary Ateny wek Ateny told Xinhua on phone that besides attending the swearing ceremony, the South Sudan leader will also hold bilateral talks with his counterparts from the east African region while in Kampala.
Museveni was a key player in negotiations that led to a power sharing agreement in South Sudan.
The power sharing deal was brokered by foreign powers and east African governments to end civil strife that engulfed South Sudan since December 2013.
Kiir spokesman said that bilateral cooperation between South Sudan and Uganda remained cordial as Africa's youngest nation charts a new path.
Museveni was declared winner of the presidential elections in February. The Ugandan leader has been in power for the last 30 years and is credited for rebuilding the east African nation after decades of political turmoil. Enditem
