Croatia supports Albania entering EU

Croatia would support Albania on its path towards European Union membership and would share its own experience on the EU negotiation with the neighboring country, Prime Minister Tihomir Oreskovic said on Tuesday.

Croatia would provide full support and assistance to Albania for its EU membership bid, Oreskovic said after meeting with visiting Albanian President Bujar Nishani.

Oreskovic said there was great potential for developing economic cooperation between the two countries in the sectors of energy, infrastructure, tourism and agriculture.

Nishani said for his country, joining the EU was the only way to sustainable peace and stability in the region and good neighborly relations.

Oreskovic and Nishani agreed that closer cooperation between the countries in the neighborhood would lead to progress and prosperity for all the people in the region.

Nishani, who arrived in Zagreb on Monday for an official visit, met also Croatian President Kolinda Grabar-Kitarovic and Parliament Speaker Zeljko Reiner on Tuesday. Endit
