11th special operations forces exhibition opens in Jordan

King Abdullah II of Jordan Tuesday launched the 11th Special Operations Forces Exhibition (SOFEX) 2016, which includes anti-terrorism drills and advanced weaponry.

Over 380 companies from 37 countries participated in the event, according to SOFEX Director General, Amer Tabbaa, who added that senior officials, officers and delegations from several countries also participated in the exhibit, which will end on May 12.

Tabbaa added that the exhibit displays the defense industry's latest tools, equipment and weaponry.

During the exhibit, Jordanian army officers highlighted the country's ongoing efforts in combating terrorism, stressing that adopting the latest weaponry is key in the battle.

On the sidelines of the event, the Jordanian leader met with several military delegations and officers from the United States, the UAE, France, Britain and Poland, among others. Endit
