Nigerian soccer team ready for Mali, Luxembourg friendlies: coach

Xinhua, May 9, 2016 Adjust font size:

Nigeria's national soccer team on Monday said it was ready to take on Mali and Luxembourg in two international friendlies later this month and early next month respectively.

Salisu Yusuf, Super Eagles' interim coach, told Xinhua that 26 players have been invited to camp ahead of the friendly matches.

Nigeria, three-time African champions, will face Mali in France on May 27 before taking on Luxembourg on June 1.

Although the team features some regular players, Yusuf said that he will give young players more chances in the friendlies.

"We are determined to give our best in this national assignment," he added. Endit
