Nigeria to revitalize leather production for economic growth: official

Nigeria is set to revitalize its leather production sector to enhance economic growth, Minister of Science and Technology Ogbonnaya Onu said Monday.

As part of its diversification drive, the government was determined to partner with leather professional bodies interested in research fields to enhance economic growth, the official said.

Onu told reporters in the northwestern state of Kaduna that such partnership would boost the economy, revitalize the sector and create jobs.

He urged scientists to develop the leather industry to meet up with the demands of the global market. Endit
