Foreign ministers of Myanmar and Thailand Aung San Suu Kyi and Don Pramudwinai Monday vowed to promote bilateral relations and economic cooperation in all sectors, saying Pramudwinai's Myanmar visit is beneficial to both countries.

At their meeting, issue of Myanmar migrant workers in Thailand, development of Dawei Special Economic Zone and cooperation in development of border areas were also discussed.

Pramudwinai told a joint press conference after the meeting that there are 1.59 million registered Myanmar workers in Thailand, adding that their next generation is enjoying education and healthcare rights like Thai citizens and more equal rights will be promoted gradually.

Suu Kyi said not only Thai government is responsible for the migrant workers in Thailand, so does the Myanmar government.

The pair also touched on mutual goodwill visits of the two countries' leadership in the future.

Pramudwinai, who is a special envoy of Thai Prime Minister Payut Chan-o-cha, arrived in Nay Pyi Taw Sunday on a two-day visit. Endit
