1st LD: Bicycle bombing kills 2, wounds 8 in Afghan northern Maimana city

A bicycle bomb that rocked Faryab's provincial capital Maimana city 425 km northwest of Kabul on Monday killing two people and injuring eight others, a local official said.

"Terrorists planted explosive device on a bicycle and detonated it by remote controller next to a police van at a market in Maimana city at around 03:00 p.m. local time today killing two people and injuring eight others," the official told Xinhua on condition of anonymity, saying authorized officials would brief the media after completion of investigation.
