Glass falls off Shanghai Tower, 1 injured

Xinhua, May 9, 2016 Adjust font size:

A piece of glass fell from the 76th floor of the Shanghai Tower, China's tallest building, on Monday, injuring one person on the ground.

Workers were changing a damaged piece of glass when it fell, bounced off the ground and hit the foot of a driver getting out of a car, according to a spokesperson for the tower's management.

They said initial investigation suggested the fall was caused by workers' malpractice but more investigation is needed.

Rising 632 meters over Shanghai's Pudong New District, the Shanghai Tower has been partially open to the public since April 27. Endi
