Xinhua, May 6, 2016 Adjust font size:

Croatia Airlines (CA) is to expand its destination network this month with the goal to boost the country's tourism, local media reported on Thursday.

Several new direct flights, including from Zagreb to Prague, Milan and Lisbon are to begin operation May 20 and 21, and flights to the Russian city of Saint Petersburg will start June 2.

The company will consider introducing flights to Moscow after purchasing two new planes next year, CA management board president Kresimir Kucko said.

Croatia Airlines operates direct flights to 35 destinations in 20 European countries.

The country received 14.3 million tourists in 2015, making the year the best for tourism since its independence in 1991, according to the Croatian Bureau of Statistics. Endit
