Armed men gun down female police in S. Afghanistan

Unknown armed men opened fire and killed a female police personnel in Afghan Taliban former stronghold the southern Kandahar province on Wednesday, a security official said.

"Female police personnel Nasrin who worked for police department in Arghandab district of Kandahar province was in Kandahar city Wednesday afternoon when unidentified armed men opened fire on her car and killed her on the spot," the official told Xinhua but declined to be identified, saying authorized officials would brief the media after investigation.

At least four female police personnel have been killed by unknown armed men obviously Taliban militants over the past few years in Kandahar. Endit
