Triathlon worlds qualifier to take place in central Vietnam

A qualifying race of the Ironman 70.3 world championship will take place in Vietnam's central Da Nang city on May 8, with the participation of over 1,100 triathletes from 59 countries and regions, a local organizer said Wednesday.
At the Ironman 70.3 Vietnam event, 1,132 triathletes, including 172 from Vietnam, will engage in a 1.9km ocean swim, a two-loop 90km bike course and a 21km out-and-back run course, said the local organizer named "Sunrise Events Vietnam".
There are 40 qualifying slots to the 2016 Ironman 70.3 World Championship slated for September in Australia.
The Ironman World Championship has been held annually in Hawaii, the United States since 1978, with an additional race in 1982. It is owned and organized by the World Triathlon Corporation. Endit
