International Football Invitational kicks off in S. China

An International Youth Football Invitational kicked off Saturday in Beihai, South China's Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, with 68 teams from six countries and regions participating.

Beihai Guigang A defeated Vietnam T&T 7-6 after a penalty shoot-out.

Vietnam T&T opened the scoring in the 21st minute, but Beihai Guigang equalized at the beginning of the second half. Both teams did not find the net thereafter. According to the rules, a penalty shootout will follow if there is a draw after 90 minutes.

Beihai Guigang edged Vietnam T&T 6-5 in the shootout to win the opener of the week-long tournament.

Co-sponsored by Beihai municipal government and a Guangzhou sports club, the tournament aims to boost the exchange of the youth. Endit
