Xinhua, April 30, 2016 Adjust font size:

A 25-year-old Russian woman has been raped in the western Indian state of Goa, a senior police official said Saturday.

"The Russian tourist was raped Friday by the owner of a guest house in Pernem where she had been staying. The horrific incident happened when the woman was sleeping in her room," he said, on condition of anonymity.

The medical examination of the victim has confirmed rape, the official said.

The accused has been identified as James D'Souza, owner of Morjim Club guest house, and a manhunt has been launched to nab him, he added. Endit
