Foreign national kidnapped in E. Afghanistan: local media

Unknown armed men kidnapped a foreign national in Jalalabad, the capital of eastern Nangarhar province on Thursday, local television network Tolo reported.

"Unidentified armed men abducted a foreigner female in Jalalabad city today," Tolo reported in its news bulletin.

The lady works for a non-governmental organization (NGO) aid agency, according to the source.

Officials have yet to make comment.

Meanwhile, a civil society activist, Abdul Rahman Mawan in talks with Tolo, condemned the incident and called upon the provincial government to ensure the safe release of the abducted foreign lady in its earliest. Endit
