At least 14 members of Abu Sayyaf group were killed in an intensified military campaign against the terrorist group in south Philippine province of Sulu, after it beheaded Canadian kidnap victim John Ridsdel on Monday.
Noel Detoyato, chief of the Armed Forces of the Philippines' public information office, said the 14 terrorists were killed during aerial bombardment and shelling of known Abu Sayyaf positions in the towns of Patikul and Talipao since Saturday.

SEOUL -- South Korea on Thursday denounced the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK)'s missile launch as a clear violation of UN Security Council resolutions.

PHNOM PENH -- Trade volume between China and Cambodia was valued at 4.4 billion U.S. dollars in 2015, an 18-percent increase year-on-year, Chinese Ambassador to Cambodia Bu Jianguo said Thursday.
Speaking at the inauguration ceremony of a China-funded power transmission system in southern Kandal province, Bu said that China imported products worth about 670 million U.S. dollars from Cambodia last year, up 38 percent year-on-year.

WELLINGTON -- The disappearance of a Chinese tourist in New Zealand has sparked police inquiries in both countries amid concerns over her mental wellbeing.
