Singapore stocks close 0.43 pct lower

Singapore stocks finished lower on Thursday, with the benchmark Straits Times Index (STI) down 12.42 points, or 0.43 percent, to close at 2,862.30.

A total of 1.39 billion shares changed hands with turnover of 1.06 billion Singapore dollars (791 million U.S. dollars).

Decliners outnumbered gainers 206 to 186, while 520 others finished unchanged.

The STI index lost 19.94 points, or 0.69 percent, to close at 2,874.72 on Wednesday. Endit
