At least 10 people were killed in airstrikes on a rebel-held hospital in Syria's northern province of Aleppo, which has been subject to intense shelling by both warring sides, a monitor group reported on Thursday.
The airstrikes targeted the hospital on Wednesday night in the al-Sukari neighborhood east of Aleppo, said the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights.
The latest violence occurred amid heavy shelling by rebels on government-controlled areas in Aleppo.
On Thursday, at least 11 people were killed when rebels fired mortar shells and improvised rockets on government controlled areas in Aleppo, reported the Observatory, which is based in Britain but says it relies on a network of activists on the ground inside Syria
It said 129 civilians have been killed in government and rebel-held areas in Aleppo over the past six days.
The al-Qaida-linked Nusra Front attempted to infiltrate government areas west of Aleppo, involving intense shelling on residential areas. The attacks prompted government forces to respond against rebel-held areas. Endit
