Chinese officials wind up Rwanda visit, commit to closer ties

Xinhua, April 27, 2016 Adjust font size:

The Communist Party of China (CPC) has reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening cooperation with Rwanda's ruling Rwanda Patriotic Front (RPF) party.

Wang Heming, CPC Deputy Director General for African Affairs, made the commitment on Tuesday at the conclusion of a visit to Rwanda.

Speaking at a news briefing with RPF Secretary General Francois Ngarambe and Justine Mukobwa, an RPF commissioner, Wang said during the visit, the two sides shared experiences in various fields, including state and party governance and best practices in social and economic development.

Wang, who led a delegation of Chinese CPC party officials, were in the country since April 24 at the invitation of RPF in celebration of 45 years of diplomatic ties between the two countries and 18 years of the two parties' relations.

Mukobwa said the two parties have been in partnership for some time and they have been sharing a number of experiences.

"There is a lot to learn from the party's activities, beginning with how they train cadres. We also do it but we can take it to the next level," said Mukobwa.

Mukobwa said the CPC delegation commended the country's achievements spearheaded by the RPF under the leadership of its Chairman Paul Kagame, who is also the Rwandan President. Endit
