Flash floods, floods and landslides have struck Jambi province in western Indonesia, leaving one missing and scores of houses and roads damaged, senior official of provincial disaster agency said on Wednesday.

Heavy downpours were blamed for the natural disasters which have taking place in some spots in the province since Friday, Head of Emergency Unit of Disaster Management Agency in Jambi province Arief Munandar said.

"Search for the missing person is underway now. Transportation in some districts is paralyzed as some roads are cut and bridges are damaged by the landslides and flash flood," he told Xinhua by phone from the province.

On Wednesday, the flooding still submerged over 100 houses in the province, the official said.

Dozens of affected people have fled their homes and taken shelter on their relatives' houses, Munandar added.
