Twenty-two universities and colleges in southwestern China's Guizhou Province jointly held an education exhibition here on Monday to promote their schools and curriculums to Cambodian students.

The fair, held at the Confucius Institute of the Royal Academy of Cambodia, was attended by officials of the two countries, including Chen Miner, secretary of the Guizhou Provincial Party Committee, Chinese Ambassador to Cambodia Bu Jianguo, Cambodian Education Secretary of State Yuok Ngoy, and Wang Fengyou, director of the Guizhou Provincial Department of Education.

"This is the first time that Guizhou province organizes the education fair in Cambodia," Wang Fengyou said. "The fair will contribute further to strengthening education ties between China and Cambodia."

Yuok Ngoy said the fair would contribute to enhancing the quality and efficiency of human resources development in Cambodia.

"On behalf of the Cambodian Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports, I wish to see such exhibition open in Cambodia every year because it is very useful for Cambodian students who want to pursue their higher education in China," he said.

He also expressed his sincere thanks to the Chinese government and universities for having provided scholarships to Cambodian students every year. Endit
