Vietnam gains 15th Olympic slot

Vietnamese rower Pham Thi Hue has qualified for the Rio Olympics, bringing the total number of berths gained by Vietnam to 15, the Vietnam Rowing Federation said Monday.

Hue, born in 1990 in the central province of Quang Binh, performed well at the women's single sculls event of the Asia-Oceania rowing qualifying round from April 22-25 in South Korea.

Vietnam has so far won 15 berths to the 2016 Olympics -- three in weightlifting, two in shooting, one in swimming, two in wrestling, one in race walking, three in fencing, two in gymnastics and one in rowing. Enditem
