Spanish treasury places 2.548 bln euros on market

The Spanish treasury on Thursday placed treasury bonds worth of 2.548 billion euros (2.890 billion U.S. dollars) on the market.

A total of 1.314 billion euros worth of 10-year treasury bonds fetched an average interest rate of 1.6 percent, compared to the 1.4 percent of the previous issue.

A further 660 million euros worth of 16-year treasury bonds carried an average interest rate of 2.116 percent, compared to the 2.059 percent of the previous issue.

The remaining 574 million euros worth of 25-year treasury bonds fetched an average interest rate of 2.6 percent, which was below the 2.7 percent of the previous issue.

So far, the Spanish treasury has placed 46.7 billion euros of medium and long term debt on the market, which represents 38.8 percent of the country's financial goals for the year, 120.3 billion euros (1 euro = 1.13 U.S. dollars) Endit
